Making Space for Water
National policy responsibility with respect to flood and coastal erosion risk management in England is developed and set by Defra. The vision of Defra’s Making Space for Water (MSW) strategy is to allow space for water so that we can manage the adverse consequences for people and the economy that can result from flooding and coastal erosion while achieving environmental and social benefits in line with wider Government objectives.
